This innovative series has proven immensely popular since its inception, playing to two packed houses each program night. Well-known actors participating in Texas Bound have included Kathy Bates (Misery, About Schmidt), Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive, No Country for Old Men), Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock, Mystic River), Larry Hagman (Dallas), G. W. Bailey (Police Academy, The Closer), Barry Corbin (Northern Exposure), Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), Janine Turner (Northern Exposure), Judith Ivey (Designing Women, Flags of Our Fathers), Carolyn McCormick (Spenser: For Hire, Law and Order), Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond), Harriet Harris (Desperate Housewives, Frasier), Christina Pickles (Friends), Brad Leland (Friday Night Lights), and Thomas Gibson (Dharma and Greg, Criminal Minds), to name only a few. Texas Bound also showcases talented, acclaimed local actors.
The series has been the subject of articles in the New York Times and Southern Living, as well as other national publications, and has produced three books and four audio publications of featured stories, all available for purchase in the Museum Store. Texas Bound programs are held each season between January and May. Our 17th season has ended but please check back in early December for our 2009 program announcement.
