The Annual Fund provides substantial support for the Museum to stage major exhibitions and offer engaging programming for you. Each year it helps us care for the encyclopedic collection and to maintain the Museum’s outstanding facilities. Last year the Dallas Museum of Art presented fifteen outstanding exhibitions that explored the work of a number of acclaimed artists such as van Gogh and Matisse. These shows were complemented by an expanded suite of over 5,000 programs that included the ever-popular Late Nights series, a free summer concert by Erykah Badu in June, and a thirty-one-hour closing weekend celebration for the Matisse: Painter as Sculptor exhibition.

In April we will open the much anticipated Center for Creative Connections in the former Gateway Gallery after nine months of renovations. The new Center will be an interactive learning environment for people of ALL AGES emphasizing creativity and experimentation with works of art and artists. Visitors will have the chance to customize their experience according to their personal interests and learning style in the galleries using the Museum’s wireless environment, on the Web and in the community.
