» FILM AND VIDEO EVENTS
Daily Screenings, Orientation Theater
Included in general admission to the Museum
The video and film works in the Orientation Theater, on view as part of Fast Forward, represent a major development in contemporary art, that of the moving image becoming a powerful form of artistic expression. Ranging in theme, subject, and format, these works invite viewers to consider them not as a conventional commercial movie or as a static work in a gallery (such as a painting or sculpture) but as a cross between the expectations we bring to the movie theater and to the museum. Rich in visual imagery as well as sound and color, these works form an important part of the Dallas Museum of Art’s present and future collection.
Some works contain mature subject matter. Viewer discretion is advised. Screening schedule is subject to change.
