Join us in the studio, where volunteers are on hand to help your family make unique art projects. All materials are provided. November 1-29: Become inspired by backdrops, curtains, and stage scenery in All the World's a Stage and Performance/Art. After visiting the exhibitions, come to the studio and make your own miniature stage set. (No program November 29 and 29) December 5-27: Celebrate the holidays with music! Let music in the exhibition All the World's a Stage inspire you to create your own holiday decoration. (No program December 26 and 27) Sketching in the Galleries for KidsEvery third Saturday with some exceptions, 1:00–3:00 p.m. Families are invited to sketch from original works of art. All supplies are provided. November 21: American Art, Level 4 December 19: Center for Creative Connections, Level 1 Collection Connections Sundays, 1:30–3:30 p.m. Take an in-depth look at a different work of art each month. A trained volunteer will be in the galleries with engaging materials for all ages. November 1-22: Vishnu as Varaha, Level 3 (No program November 29) December 6-20: Gothic Bed, Level 4 (No program December 27) Family FilmsSaturdays and Sundays, 2:00 p.m., Theater, Center for Creative Connections Films subject to change. November 1-29: The Little Prince (110 minutes) The classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's has been transformed for the stage by Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman and the Houston Grand Opera. The opera tells the story of a pilot who crash-lands in the desert and meets an open-hearted boy from another planet. December 5-27: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (76 minutes) The story of Cinderella has been interpreted by musicians, artists, and filmmakers alike. This version, originally presented as special television broadcast in 1957, features music by the legendary team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein and stars Julie Andrews as Cinderella. This film is shown by special permission of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.
