General admission to the Museum is free on the first Tuesday of every month. Enjoy thematic art-making activities, story times, performances, and gallery activities.

June 5: Summer Fun

Radio Disney
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., Concourse
Meet and mingle with our friends from Radio Disney and register for prizes!

11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., Fleischner Courtyard
See who can blow the biggest bubble, or try to catch a bubble, in this staple of summer fun. In case of inclement weather, this activity will be canceled.

arts & crafts with the AT&T Performing Arts Center
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., Concourse
Stop by to make a leash for an invisible dog and find out more about the upcoming Stunt Dog Experience on June 9.

art-making activity

Drop in and create art that “pops” by using bubbles and straws!

String Fling with Le Theatre Marionette
11:30 a.m.-noon, Horchow Auditorium
Be a part of the performance in this interactive variety show and learn all about the wonderful world of marionettes!

family tours of the Museum
11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., or 1:45 p.m., Meet at the Center for Creative Connections entrance
Join Museum Education staff for thirty-minute interactive tours of some of our favorite things at the DMA.

story time with the Dallas Public Library
1:00–1:30 p.m., C3 Theater
Listen to enchanting stories told by our librarian friends and participate in an Every Child Ready to Read mini-workshop.

storyART

1:30 – 2:00 p.m., Horchow Auditorium
Join award-winning storyteller Ann Marie Newman for stories and song inspired by works in the museum’s collection.

creativity challenges: carnival games
2:00–3:00 p.m., Sign up at the Center for Creative Connections entrance at 1:30 p.m.
Work as a team to design unique creations inspired by works of art in this fun family competition. Limited to ten teams.

sketching in the galleries for kids
2:00–4:00 p.m., European Galleries, Level 2
Spend time sketching from original works of art with artist Solange Mariel. All supplies provided.
 

 

 

The Atrium Cafe Welcomes First Tuesday Families!

Featuring the Little Artists' Collection for $5.25 with a choice of Mac ’n’ Cheese, Cheeseburger Cupcake Surprise, Fluffer Nutter Quesadilla, or Turkey and Cheese Tea Sandwiches. Meals include fresh apple slices and choice of mini bottled water, juice box, or milk.
