Woodall Rodgers Park Construction

Visitors to the Museum and the Arts District please be advised that construction on the Woodall Rodgers Park will involve street closures beginning Monday, October 19, 2009.

Beginning Monday, October 19, the Harwood Street overpass will be closed. Visitors accessing the Museum from the Tollway/Harry Hines Boulevard into downtown should approach the Museum using St. Paul Street. The Museum’s parking garage is accessible from St. Paul Street. Harwood Street going south between Woodall Rodgers and Ross Avenue will be accessible from the Woodall Rodgers frontage road and will still be available for bus parking.

Beginning Wednesday, October 21, the St. Paul exit from westbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway will be closed.

  • Visitors accessing the Museum from westbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway from Central Expressway/75 South can exit Pearl Street. Follow the Woodall Rodgers frontage road to St. Paul Street and turn left on St. Paul. The Museum’s parking garage is accessible from St. Paul Street. St. Paul Street will remain open.

On the weekends of October 23 and October 30, 2009, beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Friday through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation will close Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

  • During these times, traffic from Central Expressway/75 South will be directed to the Pearl Street exit. To get to the DMA, take the Pearl Street exit onto the westbound frontage road. Continue to St. Paul Street and turn left. The Museum’s parking garage is accessible from St. Paul Street.
  • If you are coming from northbound 75/45, take the Hall Street/Lemmon Avenue exit 1A. Stay left and U-turn at Hall Street around to the frontage road of 75. Stay to the right. The frontage road splits—stay to the right, which becomes the frontage road to Woodall Rogers Freeway. Stay on the frontage road and turn left on St. Paul Street. The Museum’s parking garage is accessible from St. Paul Street.
  • If you are coming from I-35 (northbound or southbound), you will take Woodall Rodgers and exit at Field Street. Take a right on the Woodall Rodgers frontage road and proceed to St. Paul Street. The Museum’s parking garage is accessible from St. Paul Street.
