December 7–13Join us as we introduce a new holiday tradition in the Dallas Museum of Art’s Museum Store: Art/Find, the Dallas Museum of Art Estate Sale. The week-long estate sale will begin Monday, December 7, and run through Sunday, December 13. It will launch with a private shopping event for only DMA members, on Monday, December 7, the first day of the sale. That day, and all week long, members will enjoy a 20% discount on all estate sale purchases as well as on all non-sale items in the Museum Store. Art/Find, the Dallas Museum of Art Estate Sale, is particularly special because all items will be donated by YOU, patrons and friends of the DMA. To ensure that all items for sale meet the standards of the Museum Store, Art/Find will be juried by an Estate Sale Committee, led by DMA League President Marilyn Willems, Past President Marilyn Hailey, docent and DMA member Sydney Perutz, former Museum staff member Ellen Key, and other volunteers. We need your treasures. Please contact Janet Stieve in the Store to see how you can participate. The Estate Sale Committee is interested in items typical of estate sales. These include: - Home decorative objects such as vases, ceramics, and glass
- Lamps, rugs, and textiles
- Porcelain, china, crystal, and other collectible house wares
- Books and pamphlets
- Vintage personal accessories and costume jewelry
- Furniture of a manageable scale
Please don’t hesitate to get involved with what is likely to become our most treasured annual event!
And mark your calendars now for shopping the Dallas Museum of Art Estate Sale, open to the public on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. See what eclectic and unusual treasures the DMA’s friends bring to the sale. What will our many world travelers, seasoned collectors, and fun personalities donate from their personal collections? Accomplished artist, Ronald Radwanski’s work has continued to evolve the last ten years from linear and multi-dimensional design to his present works of fluid and energetic compositions. The additions of 24k gold, silver, bronze, and copper enhance a bright iridescence, jewel, and neutral palette. His works are represented in fine galleries in the United States, and various corporate and commissioned venues in the USA, Canada, England, Germany, Mexico, Luxembourg, South Africa, and The Grand Cayman Islands. Work valued at $3000.
